PIN. KINDERTAG
On Sunday, July 7, 2024, PIN. the Friends of the Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst invites children, young people and their families to a varied day full of art and creativity.
The focus of the PIN. Children's Day focuses on the participatory art project "Breathe with Me" by Jeppe Hein, which has already taken place at the United Nations Headquarters and in Central Park in New York. Children, young people and their families are invited to become aware of their breath and visualize it through parallel blue brushstrokes on an approx. 26 m long wave-shaped canvas. Each exhalation embodies a breath stroke. The resulting collective work symbolizes solidarity, positive action, mindfulness and cohesion through the power of breathing together.
Parallel to this art project, the popular art education programs financed by PIN. will take place: from special offers for kindergarten children to workshops for young people aged 13 and over, a wide range of activities will be offered to make art accessible and tangible.
The PIN. Children's Day is accompanied by numerous stations in and around the museums, which are dedicated to various children's and young people's interests, such as music, literature and sport, and also address the theme of art, breathing and air. For example, there will be a reading with the well-known author Susanna Partsch and the illustrator Andrea Lauter, who will read from their children's art thriller "Lauter Lauterbachs und die geheimnisvolle Saliera", mini rehearsals with voice and breathing exercises with the young choir of the Tölzer Knabenchor, movement games with professional athletes from the Peak Performer Foundation, such as Thomas Huber from the Huberbuhren. Thomas Huber from the Huberbuam, Dominik Klein (handball world champion) and Alex Askovic (German 60m sprint champion), and children's tours of the Kunstareal. Guided tours by young art educators will also be offered to present art in a particularly target group-oriented way. As part of the pi.lot project, pupils and students will give talks on works that are particularly close to their hearts - especially for young people. The event takes place in the museums and on the open space between Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst. A small beer garden and food trucks are also planned.
